 I wouldn't endorse it as a commencing read aloud chapter book, but for those who have more mature preschoolers that are good listeners who have some encounter listening to chapter books then it is advisable to give it a go. I personally love the quaint language and turns of phrase, and found myself grinning as I read. It is usually long, at three hundred web pages, nevertheless it goes reasonably promptly.
